Vintage Farrell Lines Set of 4 Drink Coasters Advertising City of New York Ship

This is a nice, original set of four coasters and wood case holder in original box and case for Farrell Shipping Lines. Farrell Lines Incorporated was a boat company named in 1948 after James A. Farrell, Jr., and John J. Farrell, sons of James Augustine Farrell, president of US Steel. The company was previously known as American South African Lines (ASAL). It was a passenger line and cargo line in regular service from New York City to South Africa stopping at Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban and Lourenço Marques (Maputo) in Mozambique. The ships were well-appointed and carried about 180 passengers. Farrell Lines became a subsidiary of P&O Nedlloyd Container Line Ltd. in 2000, which was subsequently purchased by the A.P. Møller-Maersk Group in 2005.
Box measures 4.5" x 6" and coasters measure 3 1/4" x 4 3/8" Wooden holder measures 4 1/2" x 5 1/2"
There is some mild surface discoloration and some wear at edges of cardboard box. Coasters and wooden holder appear to be unused !
