This Mega Shock contains 73% calcium hypochlorite, yielding 70% available chlorine making it stronger than Super Shock. The components of calcium hypochlorite makes this product similar to household bleach, but with a longer shelf life. Mega Shock is a highly effective multi-purpose product that sanitizes, clarifies and controls algae all in one giving you crystal clear water for a more enjoyable swimming experience. Add this granular powder to a bucket of water before you begin dissolving it in your pool, 1 lb per 10,000 gallons of pool water. If you’re trying to kill algae it is recommended you use 2 bags of shock per 14,000 gallons until the algae is dead. To maximize performance, use the Rx Clear Mega Shock at night. Wait 8 to 10 hours after starting the application to go swimming.
