Sporrong is one of the oldest companies in the Nordic region
The business was originally founded as a belt-maker’s in Stockholm back in 1666 by Henrik Grau, Master Craftsman. Following several changes of name and ownership, the business was taken over in 1842 by Carl Claes Sporrong, the last Master of the Belt-Makers’ Guild in Stockholm, who also gave the company its current name.
Sinking ot the Estline MS Estonia
MS Estonia sank in 1994 in the Baltic Sea in one of the worst maritime disasters of the 20th century. It is the the deadliest peacetime shipwreck to have occurred in European waters, with 852 lives lost, and it is the second-deadliest peacetime sinking of a European ship, after the RMS Titanic.
