For auction is a copy of a newsletter entitled "Cruise News, Cunard White Star" dated February 19, 1949. It is from the cruise of the "RMS Mauretania" to New York City from Nassau, Bahamas and Havana, Cuba. The "Mauretania" was launched in 1938 but quickly was requisitioned for service in World War II as a troop transport. It returned to private service after the War and was scrapped in 1965. This newsletter, which was published daily while at sea, contains information about US Customs and Immigration facilities and requirements in New York, as the cruise was ending that day. The new letter measures appx 9x7 inches unopened and opens to appx 14x9 inches. It is printed on a lower-grade paperstock. It is in
very good condition
, in spite of being now over 60 years old. There are no rips or tears, and no writing or markings. It does have an irregular fold line, and the inside pages are faded slightly.
A nice item for any Cunard Lines collector.
